Staff / Poles

By

Our all new revolutionary Phantom style staff designs will cater for all your fire and non fire spinning occasions.

What is the difference between a Contact Staff and a Standard Spinning / Twirling Staff?

Contact Staffs are usually a heavier staff, this allows for a lot more momentum with spinning and body rolls the special grip with use on this staff is also perfect for sticking to the body for contact work. A Standard Twirling / Spinning staff is usually a lot lighter then a contact staff and are built for speed with a lighter body to them. Our Home of Poi range are all made with a strong hardened grade aluminium pole with black anodised finish for that sleek look while spinning. Phantom-Lite version are made for the speed spinners, you can even use the same grip for some contact work making this a great all round and beginner staff to use.

Do you sell bags and accessories?

Yes we have a carry bag especially made for these breakdown staffs and all parts for breakdown fusion and Phantom staffs are also available online just incase one goes missing. You can even purchase just a single fire head end. If you are wanting to switch up to bigger wicks or even double and triple header staffs we have a massive range to cater for all spinning types with three different handle styles.

Do I get everything I need for a Phantom staff in a set?

When purchasing from our site whatever is shown in the main photo of the staff is what you will be getting, all Phantom staffs sets come with the three or two pieces depending on the staff you are buying and the correct amount and size couplers needed to help join them together. When the staffs are made in our Phantom Staff range they all have the capability to join to other phantom parts or even if you purchase the practice ends you can buy an extra knob to put on the other end to make a nicely weighted twirling baton. Even join your two practice staff ends together to create a long twirling baton or practice staff with no added handle.

What benefits does a padded grip have over Leather or rubber grips?

Manufactured with a soft padded grip style handle making for an extremely comfortable and durable Contact handle design. This material has benefits over rubber or leather (which can become slippery when fuel or moisture transfer to the handle). Foam handles can soak up fuel and become a fire hazard and also deteriorates faster as a result. Some silicone designed handles can also become slippery with fuel and when dry can sometimes grip to much and pinch the skin or catch hairs on the body with certain contact routines making for an uncomfortable spinning experience.

Do you have a practice style staff for indoor or non fire use?

Practice Phantom breakdown staff ends are perfect for for those non fire situations, but still hold a great effect with holographic tape ends you can still use these for practice or performance where the light bounces beautifully off the reflective tape ends. Silicone knobs ends mean that you can use this inside and protect your tiled flooring and toes you can even bounce these on hard surfaces for an extra cool look and trick with minimal noise.

For the ultimate experience we always recommend the Ultimate Phantom Fire Kit, available in both contact and standard styles comes with one handle two practice ends, two fire ends and all in a carry bag to hold and store it in.

Breakdown means you can have easy storage and travel, this also means we are able to have these shipped via standard air mail meaning much cheaper shipping cost all round.

Can I travel overseas with my fire staff?

In most cases if the fire staff has been used a lot of customs agencies over the world would not allow this through due to the fuel residue or soot left on the wicks. You can remove the wicks if you wish or if you have a Phantom staff you can simply leave your used heads at home and buy a replacement pair of just heads for travel. This way you can use them when you reach your destination and never be without your flame. The Phantom practice staff would also be a great option for this as they still carry the same aspects of a normal staff but are easy and safe to travel with.

We also carry the Fusion fire and LED staff range. Compatible with the Fusion LED and Fusion Fire range they can adapt to work together, A kit is available for those spinners wanting LED and fire. These come in a contact version which has silicone ranging from tip to tip of the staff increasing grip for the contact routines. We also have the standard version which the LED works all the same the only difference is a smaller handle grip.

What is the difference between a Fusion Staff and a Fusion Contact Staff?

The only difference between the Contact and Standard Version is the contact version has an extra silicone grip layer that goes all the way from the handle to close to the wick ends making it perfect for contact work. They are also slightly heavier compared to the standard version. With the LED versions the actual LED units themselves are exactly the same.

What can I use to charge my rechargeable batteries for my LED staff?

We sell a USB charger perfect for use on most rechargeable batteries, you can also purchase one locally as in store we also use a Sony and energiser charger which work fine also.

Will the Fusion Staffs fit into a Home of Poi breakdown staff carry bag??

The fusion range will fit into our Home of Poi breakdown staff bags also, perfect for travel and storage.

Does the Phantom staff range work with the Fusion staff range?

The Fusion range will not work with the Phantom range as they are two seperate designs.

Can I use the Phantom Coupler on a Lite and Contact Staff?

Yes the same coupler will work for both the Home of Poi Phantom-Lite and Phantom Contact range the only difference is you would need to purchase the correct rings required for each size staff as the Lite version have a larger ring compared to the Contact which have a smaller ring.

What benefits come from spinning staffs?

Spinning a staff helps with, co-ordination, Stress (its relaxing), It teaches concentration, patience, timing, tracking skills, gross and fine motor skills
As well as the social and creative elements of spinning with your friends.

Staff / Poles Reviews

C3 End Cap
29th May, 2018

Second Set
"My original staff heads started wearing through at the button, and eventually the rubber gave up and the light unit was free to hurl out of the staff given enough force. Now I mostly try to avoid pressing the button through the rubber and instead just take it out. Not a great design, but if you have the staff you really don't have a choice."

MEDIUM Fire Covers
29th May, 2018

Bang On
"These staff covers were exactly what I expected. The only drawback in that they slightly change the weight of the staff, so with contact moves especially it changed the dynamics a bit. Otherwise, great protection and fuzzy. Thumbs up."

Fire Staff with 4inch wicks

Genius.
"The pro series chains are the most ingenius design for any chain that is used with fire poi having the two swivels at each end of one chain helps keep the spin in certain wraps as well as the oval twist chain doesn't get tangled up and less clunky steel everywhere helps from hurting when doing wrist wraps. Thanks HoP. Joseph."

Love the grip!
"This staff is very nicely weighted with small wicks and an amazing non-slip grip. Most of the weight is in the staff itself instead of being balanced and propelled by the wick area like some others available. The leather crossed over the suede type grip makes for great throwing and keeping track of hand placement. Awesome product that I would recommend to anyone looking for a prominent grip and for beginners as well."

The best single loop handle I've ever used!
"I wanted a set of shorter chains for more control of my poi plus ease of release to put my heads out and to move them to one hand with ease. These chains are fabulous! I already have the pro-series with double loop handles and this is the first single loop handle I have ever felt comfortable spinning with. I used them for a burn when they came in the mail yesterday and they performed beautifully. The material has a great no-slip feel and the loops aren't as wide like leather handles making them much more suited to my fingers with different grip types. I think these are great for anyone getting use to fire and wants the ability to get in and out of the handles with more ease than the double loop."

great chains
"these were the first pair of chains I bought for use with my fire and led poi. I love how they're weighted with the poi and have found them to be very smooth while spinning. I would suggest these chains for people starting out with fire if you're trying to learn orbitals as well."

Exactly as Expected
"Perfect online shopping experience. I found the staff I was looking for to the specifications I wanted for a reasonable price. It took about a week and a half which is making pretty good time considering it came from New Zealand and I'm in the U.S. The staff itself is holding up beautifully. I spin / burn it almost every other day and the wicks are still going strong (2 months in) and the grip is still great.Love the colors the weight the balance and the size of the wicks. Thanks HOP!"
